The 204-room Firesky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale's Old Town has been renamed the Scott Resort & Spa. Over the next two years, Classic Hotels & Resorts, which purchased the Arizona property last April, will invest $15 million to upgrade the guest rooms, suites and public spaces. The first phase of the redesign, which will begin in May and be complete in September, will upgrade the resort's 14,000 square feet of meeting space, refurbish the lobby, and renovate and rebrand the signature lobby bar and restaurant. The resort's pool area will be upgraded, as well, with more cabanas and new landscaping; the small common spaces and patios will be refurbished, and more fire pits will be added.

The second phase will see the revamp of all 204 spacious guest rooms (each featuring a private outdoor patio or balcony), where significant upgrades will include new furniture and redesigned bathrooms. The project is slated for completion at the end of 2018.

"This historic property is an elegant and fun addition to our portfolio, and we feel honored to restore and update it in ways that enrich the guest experience - not only through elevated and comfortable design, but also through new amenity and programming concepts that speak to this unique desert destination," said Classic Hotels & Resorts president John Grossman. "The Scott is a modern incarnation of an Arizona classic with a fresh, design-forward concept that will attract both locals and visitors alike."
