The Hotel Theodore in Scottsdale, Ariz., has closed for a refurbishment of guest spaces and public areas. When the 195-room property reopens in October, it will have a new name, as well: The Drinkwater. The renovation and rebranding follow the sale of the hotel earlier this year to the Sydell Group  and its move to a new management company, Joie de Vivre Hospitality. The hotel has eight meeting rooms; the addition of a new restaurant with a "name" chef will be part of the rebrand.
