The 229-room Sheraton Silver Spring Hotel, just north of downtown Washington, D.C., opened earlier this week in Silver Spring, Md. The former Crowne Plaza underwent a $5 million renovation, refurbishing all guest rooms that now include an oversized work desk, high-speed Internet, LCD flat-panel TVs and Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds. The property also features a new club-floor lounge. There is nearly 16,000 square feet of meeting space at the hotel, in addition to a full-service restaurant and lounge, an outdoor pool and a fitness facility.
