In California, the 250-room property under construction on Independence Street in Silicon Valley's Menlo Park will be called Hotel Nia, developers revealed today. The 11-story hotel, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection and a key piece of the Menlo Gateway multi-use development, is on schedule to open in January 2018.
The hotel surface will be largely glass and provide plenty of natural light to its guest rooms and work spaces, developers promise. A sleek, modern design will be offset by organic elements and natural materials.
"Hotel Nia will have its own voice," said Michael Moskowitz, a founding partner with Ensemble Real Estate Investments. "We're excited to bring a new hotel with its own individual character and inspiring design to the Menlo Park area. This will be the perfect place for people traveling to the area for business, pleasure or both and for locals to gather for a drink, meal or event. We are striving for relaxed elegance in our design and service approach that will provide our guests with a place they can draw inspiration from."
Among the 250 guest rooms will be 43 suites tailored to extended-stay guests. The hotel will offer 11,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, including a large ballroom, which will open up to 9,000 square feet of outdoor space, featuring a garden courtyard and expansive deck.
The tech-centric hotel also will offer a coastal Mediterranean restaurant, an indoor/outdoor cocktail bar and a café featuring blends from a local roaster.
