The 400-room St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central, has officially opened for business, becoming the brand's seventh property in greater China. The hotel is owned by Venetian Orient Ltd., an affiliate of Sands China.
The St. Regis Macao's guest rooms offer sweeping views of the Cotai Strip, and the restaurant is a "multi-experience dining venue," offering five distinct restaurant styles in one location. The 38th-floor Iridium Spa has panoramic strip views, as well, and an outdoor pool is set alongside more than 26,000 square feet of deck space with private cabanas. Event spaces include the Astor Grand Ballroom, which can seat 350 people, and five smaller meeting rooms, two boardrooms and a VIP meeting room. All event facilities connect to the 4,001-room Sheraton Macao Hotel, which offers a ballroom that can accommodate as many as 5,000 guests.
"There is an ever-increasing demand for luxury around the globe, and Macau is no exception," said Jim Petrus, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts global brand leader, "especially with the recent proliferation of luxury brands in the market and a record number of visitors to the destination in 2015." The new property is less than 10 minutes from the Macau International Airport and Taipa Ferry Terminal.
