Westbrook Partners, a private-equity firm, has purchased the St. Regis hotel in Washington, D.C., for $100 million in cash after Claret Capital, an Irish private-equity firm that bought the building in 2007 for $170 million, ran into trouble with its loans, according to the Washington Post. The 182-room property offers more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space and will continue to be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts under the St. Regis flag.
