A 300-room Renaissance Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., begun in April 2008, has been auctioned to the project's general manager, Flintco Inc., which plans to do what it can to finish the construction. "Our goal is to get it sold and get the thing finished as quickly as we can," Flintco CEO Tom Maxwell told the Gazette of Colorado Springs. The property, originally scheduled to open in 2010, was a John Q. Hammons project, but the company decided to walk away. Flintco Inc. currently holds a more than $24 million lien on the hotel. The property, which was to have a 46,000-square-foot conference center, is about two-thirds complete.
