Uber Technologies is joining up with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to give rewards in the hotel chain's loyalty program, Starwood Preferred Guest, to travelers using the Uber car-booking app. Under the partnership, Uber riders can link their accounts to Starwood's SPG program and accrue points for use at any of the company’s hotels worldwide. "From today, Starwood Preferred Guests can link with their Uber account and get StarPoints for every dollar they spend on Uber," said Chris Holdren, senior vice president of Starwood Preferred Guest and Digital in a statement announcing the launch. Starwood has similar partnerships with Delta Air Lines, Emirates Airline and Caesars Entertainment Corp. Since its founding in 2009, Uber has expanded to 291 cities in more than 50 countries.
