The 468-room JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa will merge operations with the adjoining Rampart Casino, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Although the two properties have been marketed under the umbrella name Resort at Summerlin, until this month they were operated by two different companies. Gaming exec Michael Gaughan III is now running operations at both venues, and he intends to merge elements such as the food and beverage departments without changing the venue names. Gaughan’s plans for the casino include an expanded coffee shop, cosmetic changes, an expanded race and sports book, and more F&B outlets. A definite timeline hasn’t yet been set for the upgrades.
