According to the San Antonio Express-News, a fire on Nov. 4 gutted the central, all-purpose Clubhouse at the 111-room Tapatio Springs Resort in Boerne, Texas, causing the property to shut down for the foreseeable future. The cause of the fire still is being investigated. Tapatio, which is part-owned by country singer George Strait, is about 35 minutes northwest of San Antonio.

A statement on the resort's website reads: "We are so sorry, in so many ways, to have to inform you that a fire started in our Clubhouse on the evening of Nov. 4, 2017. Everyone is safe but the building is a total loss. Given that the Clubhouse serves so many different purposes, essential to our members and guest experiences, Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort and the Club are closed for the foreseeable future."

Incoming guests can call the off-property reservations number (855-627-2243) between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. CST to cancel or reschedule. At the moment, the phone lines on the property are being restored.

Several upgrades recently had taken place at the resort, including the addition of a $1 million pool and bar, as well as the investment of $1.3 million in the renovation of the 13,000 square feet of meeting space. A $2 million restoration of the property's golf course was completed in 2015.
