A two-year, $60 million renovation has begun at the 744-room The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. Already completed is the redesign of the 21 guest rooms in the Southlake building and the 6,300-square-foot Cheyenne Lodge conference space. To be finished by next April is the rebuilding of the Tavern's Garden Room, the expansion of the pub-like Golden Bee and the addition of an activity center in Broadmoor West with bowling lanes, billiards, board games and food outlets. The work will wind up in April 2014 with the redesign of the West Lobby Bar, the addition of a new Italian restaurant and the expansion of the rooms, baths and lobbies in 154-room Broadmoor West. The Broadmoor offers three top golf courses and 185,000 square feet of meeting space.
