The Anschutz Corp., a Denver-based company owned by businessman Philip Anschutz, has purchased the Oklahoma Publishing Co., whose holdings include the historic Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. Management of the 744-room property remains with president and CEO Steve Bartolin, and no changes are planned in management or staff. Anschutz, characterized by the Denver Post as Colorado's richest resident, said in a statement, "I am extremely pleased with my new affiliation with The Broadmoor. I look forward to working with Steve Bartolin and his team in carrying on The Broadmoor's legacy of excellence and commitment to the Colorado Springs community." The luxury resort offers 185,000 square feet of meeting space, three championship golf courses and a 43,000-square-foot spa. Anschutz is just the third owner of the property since 1918.
