Washington D.C.'s iconic Mayflower hotel has embarked on a $20 million renovation of its 583 guest rooms and 74 suites, marking the final phase of the property's top-to-bottom upgrade. The rooms will feature new furnishings, a new color palette, flat-screen TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi and iPod-docking stations once work is complete in March 2015. The hotel, which opened in 1925, will remain open for business during the renovation. The hotel has 42,477 square feet of meeting space.
