The 173-room Renwick has opened in New York City. The Midtown Manhattan property was originally was built in 1928 as a long-stay residence for artists, intellectuals and writers. Notables who lived there included F. Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Mann and John Steinbeck. Among the hotel's offerings are a business center, a fitness center and a restaurant, Bedford & Co., that is set to open next month. The hotel has no meeting rooms but can accommodate private dining for small groups.
