The 661-room Swissotel Chicago recently completed a $10 million renovation that includes some unique high-tech amenities. The lobby now features an 80-square-foot "Ghost Wall" made of glass, with a 60-inch interactive and transparent touch screen — the largest in the country, according to the hotel. The panel serves as the property’s digital concierge and tour guide, accessible to guests with the tap of a finger. In addition, the lobby now features a new dining concept called Amuse. Guests who want to know exactly what they’ll get before they order can download the restaurant’s iPad app with menu descriptions, prices and images. Once the decision has been made, they can even order straight from the app. For meetings, Swissotel Chicago will be the first property to provide planners and attendees the Bonfire Events Management app, a program that tracks schedules, flights and presentations, connects guests via a social site and sends alerts for schedule changes. The property offers 65,000 square feet of meeting space.
