The Vines Resort & Spa is officially open for business, a boutique hotel at the base of the Andes Mountains in Argentina's Mendoza wine country. The luxury resort, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, has 22 one- and two-bedroom villas. Guests have the opportunity to learn the art of winemaking among the 1,500 acres of private vineyards, or even to own a three-to-10-acre plot for producing small-batch wine. The property's signature restaurant, Francis Mallmann's Siete Fuegos, specializes in Argentine beef and regional cuisine. Also on-site is a 1,100-square-foot infinity pool with private cabanas. A fitness center will open in March. Toward the middle of the year, the resort will complete a 15,000-square-foot spa.
