Due to empty beds and dropping room rates, three hotels in Atlanta are set to be shut down, including the 502-room Marriott Renaissance near the city’s downtown business district. The 25-story tower will lay off 142 employees in the process and is expected to close later this year, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Meanwhile, the 211-room Wyndham Garden Hotel and the 242-room Baymont Inn & Suites are expected to close by the end of this month.
