Marriott International's Tribute Portfolio, a collection of independent hotels and resorts, has debuted in Bali, Indonesia, with the 143-room Sthala in Ubud.

"Tribute Portfolio is a brand built by and for our loyalty members," said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader for Tribute. "At the time of the brand's inception, members expressed the desire for more access to independent hotels in locations like Bali, especially in indie neighborhoods such as Ubud. We are thrilled to deliver on that and provide our guests with an independent hotel as distinct as Sthala."

The upscale hotel overlooks the Wos River valley with décor that focuses on traditional Balinese elements. Three eating establishments are on-site: Naga Rooftop Bar & Lounge; the all-day dining of Sungai Restaurant, featuring Asian cuisine with Balinese touches; and the Panorama Pool and Sundeck Lounge, serving cocktails and light bites. Other amenities include a fitness center, a spa and a dedicated yoga deck. The property has 4,320 square feet of function space.

"I am thrilled to bring the Tribute Portfolio brand to Bali with the opening of Sthala," said James Costa, general manager of the hotel. "We look forward to welcoming guests with our signature authentic Balinese hospitality only found here on the 'Island of Gods,' allowing them to seek independent experiences while at the same time enjoying the benefits of Marriott International's loyalty programs."
