Japanese hospitality company Fujita Kanko said it will open two new hotels in Kyoto, Japan, which will be part of its Hotel Gracery chain. The 97-room Hotel Gracery Kyoto Teramachi is scheduled to open in 2016. The 128-room Hotel Gracery Kyoto Shinkyogoku will follow in 2017. According to the Kyoto City Tourism Bureau, the number of international visitors to the city grew by 35 percent in 2013, year-over-year, the latest research numbers available. "We are excited to be opening two new hotels in Kyoto. We are confident that we can make our properties stand out in this competitive hotel market to appeal to both domestic and international guests," said Akira Segawa, president and chief executive officer of Fujita Kanko in a statement announcing the brand's expansion.
