Lodging company Carlson Rezidor has announced plans to open two Radisson properties in Brazil in the first quarter of 2014. The 292-room beachfront Radisson Hotel Rio de Janeiro opens in January in the Barra region of the city with a spa, two bars, a gym, a squash court, a swimming pool and more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space. Later in the quarter, the 178-room Park Suites ITC Faria Lima, in the southern part of São Paulo, will undergo a US$3.5 million conversion to become the Radisson Hotel São Paulo Vila Olimpia. Among the property's amenities will be a fitness center, a restaurant and a 500-person auditorium. Following the openings, Carlson Rezidor will have 10 hotels in Brazil that will total more than 1,800 rooms.
