Unite Here Local 26 has begun sending pamphlets to meeting planners who might bring events to three Hyatt hotels in Boston, urging them to boycott the properties. The union still is reacting to Hyatt's cost-cutting action to fire 98 housekeepers last August and replace them with a third-party provider. "It is apparent to most observers that the local union is putting its own interests ahead of those of our former associates and present employees, as well as the residents of Boston and the surrounding area," Hyatt said in a statement to the Boston Business Journal.
