 Utell Hotels & Resorts rolled out a groups and events service for its international member hotels last week, designed to streamline and automate group-booking requests. The new service, available in English, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian, consists of a new online query form at as well as dedicated personnel at Utell's call centers. Utell representatives will respond to all inquiries within 24 hours. "It has historically been very difficult to make group bookings on the global distribution systems," admitted Utell vice president of global demand sales Elaine Kennedy, in a statement. The new international, personalized service will facilitate the member properties' abilities to handle complex group booking inquiries. The service is three-tiered and can be used for group accommodation only, meeting space and event assistance only, or a combination of accommodation and event support.
