The 370-room Westin Westminster, north of Denver in Westminster, Colo., has completed a $8.5 million renovation designed by Atlanta's Black Dog Studios. The new décor aimed for a "mountain modern" theme using umber, russet, amber, blue gray and teal.
The hotel's sunlit lobby is centered around a massive fireplace, which was updated with a sleek concrete finish and a hand-hewn rustic mantle, as well as an art installation featuring naturally shed Colorado elk horns.

The guest rooms, which feature wall-to-wall windows looking out onto the Rocky Mountains and the Front Range, received new carpeting, drapes, wall coverings and Colorado-inspired art. Each guest room has a Westin Heavenly Bed, and the king rooms were updated with a Heavenly Shower.

The hotel's 60,000 square feet of meeting space was upgraded with fresh furniture, carpeting, wall coverings and artwork; meeting facilities comprises 26 indoor areas and six outdoor venues, including the Waterfall Gardens, ideal for receptions.

The Kachina Southwestern Grill, serving Southwestern-inspired cuisine in a casual setting, also underwent a refresh, getting new tile, art, furniture and dining-room finishes, along with an updated outdoor patio space with fire pits.
