The wait is over. The $200 million, 169-room Four Season Hotel Montreal is now open, adding another luxury option to this French-Canadian city.

Part of Montreal's Golden Square Mile commercial and business district, the property features close to 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a full-service luxury spa with eight treatment rooms, a 24-hour fitness facility, and Marcus, the first  restaurant in Canada from celebrity-chef Marcus Samuelsson of Food Network fame. The eatery will focus on local seafood, sourcing daily catches from Quebec's surrounding waters.

"The joie de vivre of Montreal is unlike any city in North America. We've captured this incredible spirit and infused it into every aspect of this stunning new property," said Christian Clerc, president of worldwide hotel operations for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in a statement. "Everything has been designed to set the stage for connecting people, community and culture; and to showcase the very best of Four Seasons through world-class design, culinary experiences and personalized service."

At the center of the hotel is the Social Square, a sprawling space on the third floor that encompasses the hotel's lobby, the restaurant, a terrace, a day bar, and a night bar and lounge, each with its own unique design, music selection and atmosphere. Guests can step directly from the hotel into the high-end department store Holt Renfrew Ogilvy for a few hours of shopping.
