Two Sheraton Hotels Upgraded to 'Sheraton Grand'
Sheraton Hotels and Resorts has designated both the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers as Sheraton Grand properties, the first to reach this tier in North America. The properties are elevated to the brand's new premier tier after being evaluated for their destinations, distinguished design, and excellence in service and guest experiences.
"Sheraton Grand celebrates the highest-quality hotels within the Sheraton portfolio and reinforces the brand's position as a leader and trusted voice in global travel," said Dave Marr, global brand leader for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. "We are very proud to add Sheraton Grand Phoenix and Sheraton Grand Chicago to this premier tier, and look forward to announcing many more outstanding examples of our brand as we work toward the goal of having 100 Sheraton Grand properties by 2017."
The 1,000-room Sheraton Grand Phoenix offers about 112,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including a 27,000-square-foot ballroom; the District American Kitchen and Wine Bar; the rooftop Breeze Bar; and a large fitness facility overlooking the outdoor lap pool.
The Sheraton Grand Chicago has 1,218 guest rooms with views of either the Chicago River, Lake Michigan or the city skyline. On-site are five restaurants and bars and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The property offers Chicago's largest hotel ballroom at 40,000 square feet, part of the total of 120,000 square feet of meeting space.
