The Incentive Research Foundation has compiled a list of the dozen top trends affecting incentive programs in 2012, based on proprietary research and more than 40 business studies. The influences cited are the increasing velocity of change in the workplace; continued worries over the economy; increased use of smart phones; the influence of game mechanics (gamification); a growing need for proving ROI; the alignment of all programs with corporate marketing strategy; the challenge of retaining employees; the influence of social media; incorporation of wellness values; increased employee workload since the recession; the globalization of work forces; and the popularity of CSR initiatives. The findings are incorporated in a white paper that will be available at theirf.org in early March.
