About half the participants in a survey of 177 German incentive planners revealed they must cooperate with their clients' or firms' procurement departments, most notably for flights and hotels, when planning programs. The online and phone survey, conducted in June for the Site International Foundation Board of Trustees and Site's Germany chapter, also shows the following:

  • The average budget for domestic incentive trips is approximate $600 per participant, per day.
  • Incentive trips last and average of 3.2 days.
  • Nearly all the planners polled said they work directly with hotels. They said they use DMCs, specialized suppliers (e.g., for team-building or outdoor programs) and CVBs more often when the destinations were not well-known to the planner.
