The Global Incentive Council, a strategic industry group within the Incentive Marketing Association, has released a white paper on employee recognition and reward practices, risks and opportunities awaiting companies doing business in the People's Republic of China. Among the findings: China has one of the lowest levels of employee engagement in the world. This is borne out by the 2011 Employee Engagement Report by BlessingWhite Inc., a global HR consulting firm. That report found that China has the world's lowest level of employee engagement (17 percent), and the highest level of disengagement (29 percent). The research paper also offers companies advice on how to design and implement a successful program, and how to avoid potential problems while navigating the complex Chinese business and cultural scene.
