The Association of Destination Management Executives International has launched a comprehensive event-emergency preparedness and risk-management training course customized for meeting, event and destination-management professionals. The Emergency Preparedness Certificate Program was developed by ADMEI in collaboration with MSA Security, a security, intelligence, training and investigative-services firm.

The course was developed to give participants in-depth training in the basics of emergency-operations planning, as well as imparting additional planning considerations and risk-assessment tools; creating an emergency-planning mission, with a focus on prevention, mitigation and recovery; and a comprehensive team approach to assist in building an emergency-operations plan. The program also will deliver an overview on current events and trends impacting the event and destination-management industries.

The program will be offered in Dallas on March 28-29, and in Washington, D.C., on July 18-19.

Participants who successfully complete the 10-hour program will receive a certificate in event-emergency preparedness and an emergency-operation plan that includes customizable training tactics and procedures. The program costs $585 for staff of current ADMEI member companies and $650 for non-ADMEI members. Details and registration information are available here.
