The August 2011 Business Barometer from Meeting Professionals International shows both domestic and international meeting professionals are worried that economic uncertainty will affect future business. The report, a survey of 300 senior-level industry professionals, also shows that rising fuel and airfare costs are contributing to the industry's worries. Positive numbers still were recorded for current and projected business levels in the United States, but they were not as high as in June, while attendance levels remain consistently higher than last year.
