The Convention Industry Council has added three people to the Accepted Practices Exchange Standards Committee. They are Kelly Peacy CAE, CMP, senior vice president of education and events at the Professional Convention Management Association; Betsy Bondurant, CMM, CTE, president of Bondurant Consulting; and Michael Dominguez, CHSE, senior vice president of hotel sales at MGM Resorts International.
The new members have been brought on to help APEX tackle various trade issues and to help develop resources for the industry.

Dominguez already has put in time with APEX; along with MaryAnne Bobrow, he served as co-chair of the Hotel Room Block Poaching Workgroup, which earlier this year released a toolkit to help meetings stakeholders combat the issue and raise awareness of its impact. Bondurant, who has more than 30 years of industry expertise in hotel sales, and meetings and trade show management, takes over as chair of the eRFP workgroup formerly run by Christine "Shimo" Shimasaki, CMP, managing director of at Destination Management Association International.

APEX Chair Michael Owen said in a statment, "We are thrilled to have these three exemplary individuals join APEX. We believe their unique perspectives and their breadth of knowledge of the issues affecting the convention and meetings industry are invaluable. With this new team we hope to raise awareness and further make a strategic impact."
