The Convention Industry Council has released the eligibility requirements, testing information and standards for the Certified Meeting Professional -Healthcare, the new certification for health-care meeting professionals. The first CMP-HC examination will be held in May 2014, testing the specialized knowledge required by those who manage health-care meetings. As the certification is a subspecialty of the CMP, only those who have already earned the original designation will be eligible to pursue the CMP-HC. Applicants also must have three years (36 months) of experience in health-care meetings management, and 15 clock hours of professional development specifically related to health-care meetings management. Eligible professionals can apply to sit for the beta exam (limited to 150 people), which will be held Oct. 7, 2013, at testing sites throughout the U.S. and around the world. Those successfully completing the examination will be granted the CMP-HC designation.
