The Convention Industry Council inducted the 21st class of its Hall of Leaders during an event at Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas last night. The event was sponsored by MGM Resorts Event Productions, MGM Resorts International, the IMEX Group and other industry partners.
"The celebration was a truly exceptional occasion honoring industry pioneers in an intimate and unique setting," said Karen Kotowski, CEO of the CIC. "This was the perfect venue to showcase an innovative format for award celebrations."
The Hall of Leaders has honored 119 people for their industry excellence, achievement and inspiration. This year's inductees are Richard Aaron, MFA, CSEP Emeritus, president of BizBash; Patrick Delaney, CMM, CITE, DMCP, managing partner at SoolNua; Carol Krugman, CMP, CMM, M.Ed, chair of the department of Hospitality, Tourism & Events Management at Metropolitan State University of Denver; John "Jack" Patronski, executive vice president, industry development, GES; and Colleen Rickenbacher CMP, CSEP, CPC, CTA, CPECP, co-founder of the Global Protocol, Etiquette & Civility Academy. Winning the Pacesetter Award Winners were Aoife Delaney, director of global sales at Ovation DMC; and Mariela McIlwraith, CMP, CMM, MBA, president of Meeting Change.
