Event Model Generation -- the brainchild of Swiss entrepreneur Ruud Janssen, CMM, and Dutch entrepreneur Roel Frissen, CMM -- is launching a global certificate in event design with support from Meeting Professionals International and San Diego State University. The three-day training course, to be held Aug. 17-19 at SDSU, will focus on a 10-step visual approach to event design for meeting professionals.

The crux of the program is the #EventCanvas created by Janssen and Frissen, a template for developing new events or documenting existing single events or conference models. The #EventCanvas training has been accredited by the Convention Industry Council and awards 25 CEU hours under Domain G: Meeting & Event Design. The $1,950.00 fee includes a pre-course webcast, the three-day program, all course materials, lunch and meeting breaks, and a post-program online session.

"SDSU believes in innovative and rigorous programs for event executives," said Carl H. Winston, director of the university's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. "We have collaborated with the creators of the #EventCanvas previously and are delighted to partner with them to create the Event Design Certificate in collaboration with MPI."
