The Global Business Travel Association is launching a new online strategic meetings management course later this month. Titled "Corporate Meetings Program and Design: It's About Time," the five-week course, which begins on April 26, focuses on both key competencies and advanced principles necessary to launch a corporate meetings program or advance an existing one.
The online course, designed for mid-level meetings management and procurement professionals, will be led by Cindy Heston, director of travel and events for health-insurance company Anthem, where she heads a team that provides travel and event services for more than 50,000 of the company's associates. Last year, Northstar Travel Group's Business Travel News named Heston to its "25 Most Influential" list and inducted her into the Business Travel Hall of Fame.
The course consists of five modules, each 90 minutes long. The modules are "Stakeholder Identification" (April 26); "Building a Business Case" (May 3); "Architect Your Meeting Program" (May 10); "Procurement and Travel Synergies" (May 17), and "Technology and Data Visualization" (May 24). Those who complete all five modules and pass a 10-question quiz following each will earn a certificate of achievement.
Courses are priced at $55 each for GBTA members or $160 each for non-members. A 10 percent discount is given to those who register for all five classes: $250 for GBTA members or $725 for non-members. Registration and additional information can be found here.
