The Global Business Travel Association has posted a new resource in its online directory, a guide to developing a request for proposal or information from strategic meetings management vendors. The guide provides a standard set of questions for an organization to ask of vendors when soliciting bids or information for the development or expansion of a strategic meetings management program. The new resource is meant to work in conjunction with GBTA's Strategic Meetings Management Maturity Index, which was launched a year ago. An organization should first complete the Index assessment to determine what its needs might be from an SMM vendor. The GBTA's SMM RFP Taskforce, which created the new guide, is made up of representatives from Active Network/StarCite; American Express Meetings and Events; Key Bank; GlaxoSmithKline; Hewlett-Packard; Bondurant Consulting; Accenture; Cisco Systems; BCD Meetings & Incentives; and Experient, A Maritz Travel Co.
