The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association Foundation partnered with Maritz Research to release a new Future of Meetings survey, polling 1,612 hospitality professionals and focusing on four primary areas: technology, meetings design, social media and suppliers/venues. The study found that technology and its emerging role was an important issue, from web conferencing and online meetings to meeting design and the role of social media. However, technology is not necessarily embraced by all generations, findings revealed. Younger professionals expect more technology options, while older professionals do not place much importance on such tools. Other topics addressed:
· New ways of thinking about meeting design
· Social media and its multifaceted role
· Future expectation of venues.
