The International Association of Conference Centres' annual meeting for its Americas chapter welcomed 210 venue executives and suppliers to the Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale this week. According to CEO Mark Cooper, nonresidential day centers are the fastest-growing segment of the association. The group added members in six new countries in 2014: Kenya, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine and Hungary. IACC's annual chef competition, the Copper Skillet, saw 84 competitors from around the world; six went head-to-head in the finals at the IACC Americas conference in the junior and senior categories. The winner in the new junior category was Trine Thybo Rasmussen from the Hotel Koldingfjord in Kolding, Denmark; the senior winner was Michael Greenlaw from the Lindenderry at Red Hill on Australia's Mornington Peninsula.
