The International Congress and Convention Association, via its upgraded Big Data Search tool, has identified a total of 25,000 potential "meeting ambassadors," local association representatives - mainly academics - who are likely to be interested in helping associations with their bids when placing international association meetings. The upgraded tool found 10,000 more ambassadors than ICCA's earlier version of the Big Data tool, which was launched in May 2014.
Available exclusively to ICCA members, Big Data Search utilizes the databases of Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Search to help destinations locate academic contacts related to a specific meeting subject in specified cities and regions, a major step in preparing a successful bid to host the next edition of an association's international meeting.
