The International Congress and Convention Association, in conjunction with Safehotels Alliance, an organization that provides independently verified security and safety certification for hotels and meeting venues, has launched a white paper to help associations and meetings management firms plan, prepare, manage and recover from crisis that may affect their events. The paper, Crisis Management for Meetings, includes templates for emergency management of operations and communications. An appendix to the white paper includes  two case studies on how ICCA has dealt with communications in light of an outbreak of dengue fever before the 2012 ICCA Congress in Puerto Rico and geopolitical challenges of the ISIS insurgency and Ebola outbreak in relation to the 2014 ICCA Congress held in Antalya, Turkey.
