IMEX America, the annual meetings industry trade show taking place in Las Vegas Oct. 13-15, has announced an expanded roster of green initiatives. Among them will be courses offered during the trade-show floor education sessions: "Guiding You to (and Through) Greener Events," by Aaron Elliott and Nancy Zavada of Meet Green; and a presentation by Lizzy Paulson, events director at Time Warner Cable, on "Planning for a Revolution: The Rise of People, Planet and Profit. Are You Losing Out by Ignoring CSR?"

IMEX also is launching a new initiative at The Shade Tree, a local shelter for homeless and abused women and children: a complete recycling program, Evergreen Shade Tree, that will establish processes and signage, educate residents and provide recycling bins.

Other green practices at the show will include IMEX's Green Team, in which attendees complete tasks that reduce waste and increase awareness of corporate social responsibility.
