The 10th annual IMEX-Frankfurt, the meetings industry trade show, opened yesterday in Germany. According to the show's organizer, nearly 4,000 hosted buyers from more than 60 countries are attending, including 20 new hosted-buyer groups. Three-fourths of the buyers are from Europe, with the remainder from the growing long-haul markets of the United States, Brazil, Russia, India, China and Latin America. This year's show features 47 new exhibitor stands, including ATA Hotels, Best Western Hotels, Buy the Sea cruise lines, Hornblower New York Cruises, Jakarta Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre, Mice Mallorca, Qatar Airways, Song Division and the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel. The show's technology exhibitors have increased by 10 percent. IMEX-Frankfurt, which runs through tomorrow, is offering free Wi-Fi and more than 120 seminars this year.
