Meeting Professionals International's bimonthly economic report, the Business Barometer for April 2013, shows bookings for corporate meetings in the United States are rising and lead times are extending. Association meetings numbers are up slightly in the U.S., while government meetings are flat. In Europe, across all three sectors, the numbers aren't quite as good, with a projected rise in bookings of about 2 percent, compared with 3.5 percent in the States. Industry professionals in Europe indicate they are still worried about short lead times.
