At Meeting Professionals International's European Meetings and Events Conference, held this week in Montreux, Switzerland, the association announced it has closed its Luxembourg office because it was not owned by MPI. The move includes the departure of Didier Scaillet, chief development officer for MPI and the MPI Foundation, which had been announced last year. MPI is reorganizing its European chapters; the new structure has yet to be determined. "MPI will continue to have staff presence in Europe to support our European members and grow our European membership base, which are all very important missions for MPI," said an association spokesperson. "Together with input from our local community, MPI is redefining the support structure for Europe and will put in place an organization in the locations that best enables us to provide outstanding value for our European membership and the European community."
