Meeting Professionals International has hired Heidrick and Struggles, a leading executive search firm, to vet prospective executives for the top staff position at the association. Bruce MacMillan, the former president and CEO, resigned from the organization last June. "Our search firm is now in the process of pulling candidates so we can start going through the interview process," said Michael Dominguez, senior vice president of sales for MGM Resorts International, chair-elect of MPI's international board and chairman of the CEO search committee. "We are making sure we are executing the business plan that we have in place, and there is no timeline for announcing the new CEO. We're worried about getting it right, not 'right now.' If there were a greater need, if we felt things weren't getting done, we would be having a very different conversation."
