Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of Meeting Professionals International, will not be renewing his contract with the organization and will leave the job on June 29; his current contract expires June 30. "I've been blessed to work directly with an inspired group of volunteer leaders, management colleagues and industry partners over the past six years," he said. Current MPI international chairman Sebastien Tondeur, CEO of MCI Group Holding SA, is appointing a CEO search committee to be run by chairman-elect Kevin Hinton, executive vice president for Associated Luxury Hotels International; no date has been set by which the association hopes to name a new president. MPI COO Cindy D'Aoust will lead the association in the interim. Asked whether she has any interest in the president and CEO position, D'Aoust, who has only been with MPI for about two months, said, "I am thrilled to be here, and a large reason I am here is Bruce. Right now I'm really focused on the COO position, really focused on the role I have today." MacMillan, who has mentioned no immediate plans for his future, does plan to stay in the industry. He said his replacement will need to have a solid vision for MPI in order to continue its role as an industry leader.
