Meeting Professionals International's Business Barometer for October, its bimonthly economic report, shows worry over global economic uncertainty has risen 10 percent since the August report. Interestingly, worry over the U.S. Economy is down 4 percent. Those in the industry also are more worried about shorter lead times (up 6 percent). Surveying more than 300 people (62 percent of them planners and 38 percent suppliers), MPI found that overall meetings and events business conditions are better this year than at the same time last year for 64 percent of the sample. The full report is available here at no cost for MPI members; nonmembers can buy the report for $25.
