Cindy D'Aoust, COO of Meeting Professionals International, will leave the organization as of Dec. 5 for an undisclosed position. She came to the Dallas-based organization in April 2012, leaving her position as vice president of shared services with Maxvantage, the strategic alliance between Maritz Travel Co. and American Express. When former CEO Bruce MacMillan left MPI in June 2012, D'Aoust served as interim CEO until April 2013, when Paul Van Deventer was hired to run MPI's staff. "Cindy is leaving MPI to pursue an exciting leadership opportunity that supports both her professional goals and personal priorities,” said Van Deventer. "While we are disappointed to lose Cindy’s leadership and will miss her boundless energy and passion for our community, we are personally very excited for her and her family." The organization will hire a search firm to find someone to fill the position.
