Reflecting a survey of 200 meetings industry professionals, Meeting Professionals International's Spring Meetings Outlook shows 66 percent of respondents expect an increase of virtual attendants at their meetings. The report also shows that 51 percent of the organizations represented use virtual and hybrid technologies for their events. The news is good for face-to-face events, as well, as more than half of those surveyed (53 percent) expect live attendance to increase in 2014, and 33 percent anticipate no change in attendance from 2013. Also citing optimism, 73 percent of the respondents expect business conditions to continue to improve, and 43 percent expect their budgets to increase, while 41 percent said their budgets will remain the same.
