The Professional Convention Management Association is relaunching its Virtual Edge Institute under a new name, the Digital Experience Institute. The organization announced the change today during the Virtual Edge Summit, an online conference focused on strategies and education around digital and hybrid events.

The new name is really just a rebranding of VEI, according to a spokesperson. The Digital Experience Institute will continue to offer insights and resources for engaging online participants, be they attending a live stream or on-demand event, or even taking part in a virtual-reality experience via goggles. The DEI advisory board will remain the same as that of VEI, featuring luminaries from the association, medical, corporate and event-technology fields, all of whom share their knowledge with the DEI community.

The DEI will continue to offer the Digital Event Strategist online education course and certification as well, the only online certification offered in the field. "The revealing of the DEI is the latest step in PCMA's commitment to providing the best digital-educational tools and resources for the industry," said PCMA CEO Deborah Sexton. "Like the VEI before it, the institute will represent our ability to harness future success for everyone involved."
